Taia Akulova is a Los Angeles-based contemporary artist with a Master’s degree in Architecture and a professional background in architecture and design. Her work explores self-identification in a rapidly changing world.
Through expressive oil painting, she investigates the tension between inner identity and external reality, capturing moments of transformation, vulnerability, and emotional intensity. Figures emerge, dissolve, distort, and reappear, reflecting the complexity of human experience and the continuous search for connection. Moving between abstraction and representation, her paintings inhabit the space between what is seen, felt, remembered, and imagined. Each series is an invitation inward — a journey through the subconscious, where personal narratives, emotions, and unanswered questions take shape.
Taia has exhibited in Los Angeles and internationally through solo exhibitions, group shows, and contemporary art fairs.
